Fresh spinach, frozen mixed berries, banana and orange juice make up this wonderfully tasty smoothie.
I admit that I am not a great veggie eater. I remember my Mom trying to sneak carrots, peas or even, (ew!) brussel sprouts into my mashed potatoes. This smoothie has a bunch of spinach in it, but due to the fruit, you can't taste it. Plus it makes for a really pretty deep purple colour that is sure to please any child. Or even a picky adult!
This smoothie is made so quickly in the blender. Throw everything in and blitz it for a minute, and your smoothie is done! You don't even need one of those fancy pro blenders. I have a basic blender and it works well.
Any leftovers can be left in the refrigerator. The spinach seeps to the top so it will need a quick stir prior to consuming it.
- 1 cup spinach, fresh
- ¼ cup orange juice
- ¼ cup water
- 1 banana, ripe
- 1 cup frozen mixed berries
- Blend spinach, orange juice and water until smooth.
- Add banana and frozen berries and blend again.
